While the above scenario would be fantastic if it actually happened, I view it as fantasy, wishful thinking.
I can dream, can't I? π
as the lawsuits continue to increase world wide against the watchtower corporation and it's branches,, things could get very dire for the governing body to plea bargin for a lighter sentence and so turn over crucial evidence against their fellow f&dss, technically beat their fellow slave and what not.. now i know a lot of you will be thinking: "what on earth could lead to the gb blowing the whistle on fellow his fellow gbs?
" i think that a legitimate question and offer no answer but just use your imagination as if this thing led them to make a run to the opposition to rat on others to get a lighter sentence.. hey i'm thinking about man's powerful desire to save one's own skin at the expense of his loyal companion..
While the above scenario would be fantastic if it actually happened, I view it as fantasy, wishful thinking.

are there any folks here who believe that armageddon, the "second coming of christ.
" the great tribulation and resurrection are past events rather than future?.
I believe that everything Jesus prophecied in Matt. 24 was fulfilled, either literally or figuratively, within that literal generation, so I guess that makes me a full preterist as well. I'm not dogmatic though and always open to new points of view.

Not sure I understand your reasoning, seeing as verses 36 onward doesn't describe any further events, just seem to be elaborating on the timeline that ended in verse 35.
*new episode with a special announcement*.
so episode 5 of "shunned" is now up featuring caleb, a 19 year old ex-jw that was brave enough to take a stand for truth at just 18 years of age.
he's leaving for the army on january the 23rd so i tried to get this one out as soon as possible.
Is this JW 'special' or actually special? π
Sorry, couldn't resist.
with christmas gorby had a good talk with his jw father about βtime tends to flyβ and how everything changes.. he concluded: βif our grandparents would visit the kingdom hall now, they would headshaking left the building and never returned.β.
it says something, does it?.
g..
Just talked to someone yesterday who got baptized in the '90s. She still 'believes' but she mentioned the end and then said, 'well, they've been saying that for 25 years'. Seriously? More like 140 years! Every witness must think they're the only one like a child, as if they just started talking about the end when SHE got baptized. π
this is my first post, i will introduce myself later.
first of all, i must say that english is not my mother tongue (i'm spanish), so excuse me if i make any mistake.. do you think that some people simply can't cope with being outside the jws?
some of them are too worldlyphobic to be around non-jws, too dependent on a fixed set of rules in order to carry on with their lives, too dependent on the hope of paradise and resurrection, too unable to leave their personal comfort zone within the organization.

Beautiful thoughts, I agree.

Here's an illustration:
Someone's got a tumor or a parasitic twin. How much is that growth attached to their vital functions? What are the risks of removing it? Is it always worth it? It's hard to say, every case is different
many members on here have been shunned.
we know whats its like--and the effect it has had on our lives.
but what about those of us who practiced shunning before--when we were members of the watchtower cult ?.
I remember when I was younger I was afraid to sit in the back row next to a disfellowshipped girl, it was the only seat left. Later my attitude changed. I was still fully in and believed it was the truth, but I would go out of my way to look for loopholes to show kindness to disfellowshipped people, even those I didn't know. Funny thing is, when a relative of mine was disfellowshipped I went back to being strict, thinking it was a test and I was being faithful.
my sister sent me this youtube.
in it are witnesses waving their phone lights and dancing in the aisles.
sorry if this vid has been posted before.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k7iw-zisgw.

Nailed it.
your doctor prescribe cannabis (you are a depress jw), you show your prescription to the body of elders because someone saw you smoking pot.
i wonder how many elders will seek out that doctor to get the same medication.
what would be wrong with a jw lighting up a blunt after a hard day?
A regular pioneer relative of mine with "chronic fatigue", "fibromyalgia" and all the other head diseases really caused by poor diet, no exercise and cognitive dissonance was considering smoking "medical" marijuana.
I think I understand. You want to convert this secret publication into JW Library's proprietary format so that you can show some damning information from it to a JW straight from JW Library, is that right? That's a great question. I wonder if .jwpub files can be edited by any 3rd party software?
